She's a Jolly Jumper!

Ok, so I know all my posts are about Silver right now, but if you read my journals I always write the most about the one that was the littlest. You should read how much I wrote about Reid when he was a baby! I love all my kids so much and all equally. But there is something so special about a baby.
Since Silver's personality reminds me the most about Reid and Reid LOVED the Jolly Jumper I thought I would get one and try Silver in it. Since I got rid of all my baby stuff I had to go buy one but I knew she would love it. And I was right! She was in it longer than my other girls. Reid and Silver both hated the swing and loved the Jolly Jumper. And Jada and Leela hated the Jolly Jumper and loved the swing. I still can't get over how different each kid can be. Yet they have so many traits that are the same too. Like Jada and Silver have the same body (narrow hands and feet and no bum) While Reid and Leela have the same body (blue eyes, chubby bum, wide hands and feet) Silvers face looks the most like Leela's to me, but everyone I talk to says how much she looks like Jada. And I think everyone would agree that Reid and Leela are practically twins! Yet I don't think any of them look like me! I think Jada is the most "Johnston" and Reid is the most like Ryan. I am still waiting to see if Silver will go blonde. Both Reid and Leela had dark skin and dark hair at her age and look at them now! Totally blonde and pale! Anyways, here is a pic of Silver enjoying her new Jolly Jumper:
By the way, that's her Christmas present and that's all she's getting! Not like she knows anyways! lol

I'll do Anything for a Laugh

video

Now that Silver is getting older she is so much fun. She is my smiliest baby. She is laughing all the time. And I am doing the silliest things to make her laugh. I found out yesterday she likes it when I quack like a duck. You can't see me in this video but I am making the silliest faces at her to make her laugh. And I am her favorite person right now so she will laugh at anything I do. This was taken at dinner time which is her crankiest time so it's still a good sign I can get a laugh out of her even when she is cranky. I just love Silver so much. She is the best!!

This second video is Silver playing with her toy. I love that she can grab onto things now and that she is starting to play with toys.
While I'm blogging I might as well add a few pics of our Christmas decor. We finally put up our tree this week and Silvers stocking just came in the mail. I haven't got the nativity up yet. It is huge and there are so many pieces to it so I don't even know if I will get around to it this year. So this is our tree and the stockings:
It's hard to see in the pictures but they all have their names on them.

Santa the Newfie

I'm so happy to say that all the sickness is gone in our home and we are all better just in time for a weekend of parties.  On Friday night we had Reid's birthday party:  Then we went right over to the church party.  It was tons of fun.  The kids were pretty tired by the end of it though.  Then this morning we went to the Syncrude party for the kids.  It brought back so many memories of when I was a kid going to those.  I was Jada's age when I went to my first one.  They had a magician there and then the kids got to meet Santa and have lunch.  And they give out such nice gifts.  Leela got a Princess throne that plays music when she sits on it and it came with a skirt and tons of jewelery.  Reid got a huge Nurf gun that's like a machine gun.  I was having so much fun shooting my kids with it all day and then I told them they could shoot me with it.  MAN does that ever kill to get blasted with that thing directly in the face from up close!! Jada was like, "SEE!  I told you it hurts!!"  I thought she was being dramatic! haha!  Anyways, Jada got a horse for her barbies that walks and plays music.  And Silver got  a walker thing that she can use when she's learning to walk.  Very cool.
So, on Friday when we went to see Santa at the church (AKA, brother Simpson)  Jada was like, "mommy, that doesn't look like Santa..."  And so we told her that was one of his helpers.  Then when we went to the Syncrude party the Santa there came out and totally had a Newfie accent!!  He was like, "where ya to, by?"  The minute he started talking I burst out laughing!!  Then I thought, now how am I going to explain this one to the kids.  I thought for sure they'd notice the accent and wonder who this guys was.  But then I realized that my kids all have grown up around newfies so they are probably all used to it and think he talks normal!  lol  I've even heard Jada come home from school saying Newfie terms.  It's soo funny!
So here is Newfie Santa with Jada.  Reid was too scared and Leela...well, she wanted to meet him but right before she got to him she was sitting on a bench and leaned back because she thought there was a back to the bench but there wasn't so she fell back and hit her head on a metal radiator and the brick floor.  So...needless to say, she wasn't really in the "let's go meet Santa mood!!" lol

So, that's what we've been up to lately.  I think it got me a little bit more into the Christmas mood.  I haven't really been feeling that Christmasy this year.  I haven't even set up my tree yet.  I'm not really in any rush since it all gets destroyed so fast anyways.
Oh, and just one more question...why does everyone I know with little kids have such nice Christmas trees??  How is this possible...please tell me your secrets!  Ours consists of 2 year old broken candy canes and decorations the kids made from school.  It always looks so sad.  Maybe that's why I'm in no rush to put it up this year!

Here's Ryan and Reid at the church party:

Warning....if you aren't in the mood for whining DO NOT READ!

So....where do I start...I'm sick.  And I just feel like whining about it, so I thought I'd do it in my blog rather than to everyone I talk to.  I don't know what I have, but it all started on Tuesday with chest pain.  Then everyday it just got worse and worse.  It moved up to my head and my head just aches.  I'm so congested.  And today I am feeling really dizzy.  The right side of my head is tingling.  And now my stomach hurts.  Oh, and a week or so ago I ripped half my toenail off when I ran into the vacuum cleaner so that hurts too.  PLUS, I have an ingrown finger nail that is so red and puffed up.  I can feel my pulse throbbing in my whole finger.  And it has puss coming out of the nail too!  Hey, I warned you not to read this!!  Besides all that I got my flu shot a couple days ago and my arm hurts so bad.  I don't usually get the regular flu shot, this was the H1N1 shot.  Is is normal for it to be this sore after?  Anyways, I feel like I'm dying, but hey, I'll get over it.  I'm just counting down till Wednesday when Ryan is off and can take care of me.  I'm so tired and it really reminds me of my pregnancy with Silver.  I guess that's the only good thing that I'm NOT pregnant!!  Hey, and while I'm looking at the bright side, at least my cracked nipples are healed too!!  That only lasted a month and a half...just in time for all this other crap.  Oh, and did I mention Silver is sick too?  First thrush, then measles, then Flu, then thrush again.  She is finally starting to feel better now so I am happy for that.  Anyways, if felt good to get all that out.  Now I don't have to whine about it all again when Ryan comes home.  Cause I'm SURE he just wants to hear all the complaining too! haha!
Ohm here's a pic of my finger.  It's a bad picture so you can't really tell how bad it is, but you get the idea.

Way too many!!

So, this week I have been going through the house cleaning up and getting rid of all the unused toys. What a mess!! OK, so every month or two I do this same thing...empty toy bins, throw out the garbage and donate the toys they're bored of. So how the heck does it multiply in just one month!?? I don't get it! I don't know how we keep getting more and more toys. I know Jada just had a birthday, but really...REALLY!?? This is INSANE! I don't know why we buy toys in the first place since they get bored of them in like 20 mins. The big thing in our house is stuffed animals. Isn't that nice? Ya, it's great having stuffies everywhere wince they take up 10 times more space then any other kind of toy. Everywhere I turn there's another one. I find them in my bed, in the pantry, in the bathroom and in the closet. And yet every time we go to Edmonton I just HAVE to buy them just ONE more! I also went through the kids books and got rid of two huge boxes full. I'm trying to sell them for $25 but if a friend wants to take them off my hands they can have them for free.
Besides toys and books, clothes are also another thing that is getting a little insane around here. We have 13 large totes of girl clothes in my closet!! Yes- 13!!! Not to mention three dressers FULL and closets FULL! Yesterday I went through all of Leela's clothes because she has only 3 different outfits she likes. I got rid of two HUGE garbage bags full! It feels so good to dejunk though.
Oh, and I am trying to sell some stuff too. Like my baby swing that Silver HATES, her bassinet, the books as I mentioned, and my treadmill. My treadmill is less than a year old and in great condition. I'm asking $700 but will sell to a friend for $600. I can't use it anymore because of my knees. If anyone of my friend wants to take the swing or bassinet they can have them for free! Yes, please, take them from me!!
Well, that's what I've been up to lately. What an exciting life I have! lol
